Our Services

We provide garden services tailored to your needs. Whether you’re starting fresh with a new landscape or refreshing an existing one, our team can assist with design, plant selection, placement, and installation. We can also help with maintenance, weeding, and clean-up throughout the season. If you are more of a DIY person, we are here to help you choose the right plants.

Please note:  Our typical service area includes Weston and the surrounding communities within a 20-minute drive. We will consider jobs outside this area for an additional charge.

PERSONAL DESIGN SERVICES

Our experienced staff offers the following services:

  • Garden/landscape on-site consultation: includes one or ongoing informal site visit(s) and follow-up suggestions. For the home gardener looking for new ideas.

  • Planting design. For clients working with an experienced landscape installer who just needs a little help with the plants!

  • Planting design and on-site plant layout: we design and place plants on location, and you/landscaper plant. This option is great for clients who want to ensure the right plant goes in the right place, allowing for last-minute tweaks!

  • Planting design, layout, and installation by Clearview: trust us with the whole process. We have limited availability for this service, so get on the schedule early!

  • Ongoing maintenance for established clients within our primary service area

Please note:  We do not provide landscaping prep work requiring heavy equipment including shrub removal, rock removal, bed preparation, edging, etc. If you have someone to perform this work, we are happy to work with them. If not, we can help you contract out with trusted companies depending on your specific needs.

Our design fees

We offer brief in-store consultations to determine your design needs. From there, we will propose the best route forward for your project and estimated design costs.

Most simple design projects start with an up-front fee of $250, which includes creating a planting plan, list of plants, and plant price estimate. Fees may vary depending on the size and complexity of the project, and any necessary site visits. Beyond the design phase, projects that involve plant layout and installation are billed based on the scope of the project, with quotes provided if needed.

If all this sounds good, Clearview is happy to work with you. Please contact us to arrange a time to meet either in-store or at your home.

Help us get  familiar with your project by doing the following prior to meeting:

  • Create a simple map of your home and the areas you are looking to design, including rough dimensions.

  • Take note of any utilities to be aware of, areas you’d like to keep clear, views, areas to screen, what you plan on doing in certain spaces (seating areas/play areas/bird feeders/etc.), and other features it may be helpful to know about.

  • Pay attention to areas of sun/shade throughout the day, and hours of sunlight specific areas get. Where are the areas of full shade/dappled shade/hot baking sun,/etc?

  • Start researching different garden design styles and plants online to spur ideas.

Our expertise and values

Owner & lifelong gardener Leigh Presley has a degree in Landscape Architecture from UW-Madison and over 15 years of experience working in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, and education. At Clearview, we take pride in helping customers make informed plant choices. We also learn a lot from our customers and the projects we’ve taken on over the years. We subscribe to the following practices & values:

  • Use of native and/or cultivars of native plants and avoidance of invasive plants

  • Increasing plant diversity, limiting use of overused plants in the landscape

  • Use of dense planting and groundcovers to limit bare ground and reduce need for weeding

  • Practices that encourage healthy plant growth, including the use of natural and organic materials for plant establishment and ongoing maintenance. I do not recommend the use of landscape fabric, rock, or rubber mulch around plants but I have come to some happy compromises around the use of these materials in limited applications with businesses and homeowners in the past
